Description
In pre-revolutionary France a daily enema after dinner was de rigueur. It was not only considered indispensable for health but practiced for good complexion as well.
The 17th century became known as the “age of the enema”. It was the fashion in Parisian society to enjoy as many as three or four enemas a day, the popular belief being that an internal washing or “lavement” was essential to well-being. It was this acceptance by the public that took the enema or clyster from the hands of an apothecary and put it into the hands of the public. By this time, the clyster syringes came in several styles. The clyster syringes were made of copper or porcelain, and the wealthy had syringes made of mother of pearl and silver. It was considered good form to own several syringes and some aristocrats, it is said, even owned large collections.
In 2012 our health is our ever increasing concern with heart disease, cancer and diabetes on the rise like never before. Fortunately since the 17th century we have become a little more advanced in practicing this age old method not only allowing a comfortable treatment for the client with all matter being taken away in tubing, cleaning all around the large colon to the cecum but at Bottoms Up we also implant wonderful nutrients, bacteria, electrolytes and herbs back into our body. After all our body is the garden for our soul. All this while your therapist takes time to talk to you about your diet, hydration habits, what you are feeling during the treatment along with how your tummy’s health can and does affect your emotions.
Bottoms Up Colonics is treatment designed to create greater public awareness of the human digestive system. Bottoms Up has skilfully developed a user friendly model of what’s commonly called colonic irrigation. We’re taking the approach of educating people about their digestive system and the health benefits of colonic therapy. Bottoms Up is making colonics and available to the general public instead of the perceived elite.
The company philosophy is one of dedication, professionalism, service and pro-activity. The mission of Bottoms Up is to make colonic hydrotherapy transparent and understandable in its approach. We have a commitment to furthering education and knowledge of this complex area of the digestive system that affects so many parts of our body and our health.
Bottoms Up Colonics has been operating for seven years, using a closed system with all disposal equipment. Sue has been trained in the only recognised training organisation in Australia for colonic hydrotherapy and is a member of the International Colon Association and the Australian Colon Health Association.
In October 2011 Bottoms up opened its second clinic with two rooms in what is known as the Super GP clinic in Eimeo Mackay. In May of 2012 the clinic was closed in Sydney St Mackay to concentrate on our service delivery from this clinic along with developing our food line Cultured Cuisine, training and cooking and information nights on the Body Ecology way of eating. This provides a complete service on cleansing and detoxing your body for health, vitality and anti-aging from the inside out.
